Acrylic on canvas series

In this series, the portraits are not presented as conventional faces or visages, but rather as dark forms confronted by sharp, threatening, and destructive lights. Light, which traditionally reveals and shapes form in painting, here plays an opposing role—when misdirected, it can become damaging and annihilative. I aimed to strip light of its classical and art-historical connotations and then observe its effect on my portraits. Through this deconstruction, I sought to challenge fixed meanings and explore unconventional solutions for portraying each face.
